Blizzard will be releasing the new expansion for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm on December 7th, 2010, according to their official announcement. The standard version of Cataclysm will go for $40 (if you order from Amazon, be sure to use the option to have it delivered on release day- no waiting in line!)

Looks like they’ve bumped the max level to 85, and added a couple of new classes- Worgen and Goblin. What’s particularly interesting is they’re going to add more campaigns for high level players- so if you’ve been on a Warcraft “vacation” it might be time to bring your favorite warriors out of retirement…

They’ll also have a World of Warcraft Cataclysm Signature Series Guide ready to go as well…

Hold on to your mount because 3. is out today! Thats right, April the 14th WoW 3.1 went live! Wooot! Now what does that mean for you? Well it could mean a few things but that would take forever to go into detail about each class so I think I will touch on what will be happening for EVERYONE since 3.1 is out. Let us recap what is here now!

WTF My Mount Can Swim?! Did anyone else see that?

Yes, that is a common thought, you are not high and others can do this too as of 3.1. Congratulations!

Now in instances: There are interactive maps!

Since 3.1 was released, you can now see where you are inside the instance on the map. This means that you will be able to get through instances even if you are lost, no more excuses! (Currently only supports Wrath maps)

Lots of random class alterations.

There are lots and lots of class details that it would be pointless for me to mention but check them out on MMO Champion right here.

Dual Talent Specs!

Yes, having two talent builds are cool, so take advantage of them now. Paladins, feel free to make a Holy/Prot Dual Spec, never need a tank or a healer again! Too bad Rogue’s will not feel any love from this besides PvP/PvE, but check out Rogue Talent Builds anyways.

Lots of bug fixes, lots of new items, and tons of talent build changes. Hard to list them all but feel free to check out MMO Champion for more information! Have any questions? Feel free to jot them down and I will try to answer.

Yeah we all know the flashy “3.1 Dual Spec’s Will Change Your Life!” but what use will Rogue’s have with it? Will we be getting buffed to be able to tank? Maybe we can heal? No? Then why do we care? We should not.

The day’s that Paladin’s do not need to interupt the raid to go change to be a healer or a DPS or a tank for our raid impresses me greatly. Druid’s being able to do the same impresses me greatly as well but why do I care about their greatness? I should not. As Azeroth Cookbook says on their post about WoW User Interface Updates, we know the following about the dual spec implementation:

1. It is only for the level’s of 40+

2. You can switch it out anywhere you would like.

3. You need 1,000 gold as an initial fee. (Check out how to get that gold here)

As you can see it is flashy for the hybrid classes but what about the Rogue’s? What are some uses we will have with this neat feature? There is only one that I can think about, allow me to set up the scenario for you right here.

Let us say you just got Raiding with your guildies and when you come out there are a couple of flagged hordie’s chilling in front of the summoning stone, what do you do? Simply change your Raid Spec to your leet PvP Spec and own some Horde tail! Want some tips on some mega-leet Rogue Builds or any other builds? Check out the builds here.

What do you think about the Dual Spec feature? Do you think Rogue’s have a purpose in life or are we destined to just be depressed toons with no improvements since BC? Speak your mind here, this is your playground.

Welcome to World of Warcraft gold as far as the eye can see. Below I will share a few of the best gold tips and tricks from Warcraft Millionaire’s Guide for the full guide check out, Warcraft Millionaire or my other post on Review Warcraft Millionaire.

Tip #1: Sell what you do not have

You will be in front of the Auction House in whatever city and pretty much linking things that sell quite easily. Sounds easy? Well it is. Lets say that there is an item in the Auction House for around 500 gold, you then will proceed to link the item in /2 or “Trade” channel and put up “WTS (Item) 600 gold. PST Now!”. With this trick you buyout the item you see in the Auction House for 500 gold then you turn around and sell it to the guy who wants to buy it for 600 gold.

Notes: You can make up any amount of money that you feel comfortable with but I used 600 gold just to name a price. This works on anything else in the Auction House, just be fast and be nice.

Tip #2: Buy Low Sell High

This should be common sense to most but you will not believe how many people simply overlook this. For this all you need to do is know you stuff. You should be able to spot a good deal when you see one then you will sell the item back in the Auction House or Trade channel for higher than what you paid for it. Stick with that strategy and you will never go wrong!

Note: Be sure to know how the market is doing so you do not get ripped off. I for one have been ripped before but it was only because I did not study the trends of the market and I bought too much and never could sell it all. Think!

Tip #3: Use those skills!

You have profession skills for a reason, not to just get those pretty achievement points! Use your skills man. Herbalism, Mining, Skinning, and Fishing, those are what we call “Gathering” skills, where all you need to do is go out and grab the materials. People pay ridiculous prices for the things you do, just because most people are lazy. Gather that ore and go to the Auction House and lay it on the people, they will eat up your ore just so they don’t have to farm it themselves!

Now most of these tips are self explanatory but who needs a bunch of confusing mumbo jumbo that really yields no more gold than simple tactics? Now, I have spoke time and time again on Azeroth Now, so see my Warcraft Millionaire Review post and find out what the hype is. That is my point. Warcraft Millionaire is what revealed what is going down on the Auction House and how to cash in on it for yourself before the rest does! People are lazy and Warcraft Millionaire is not, so use their tips to make the lazy pay for your junk and you will always be ahead. Get Warcraft Millionaire today!

3.1 Rogue Changes Will Amaze You -

Since revieiwing all changes throughout 3.1 patch notes, I have come to realise some things about the Rogue in 3.1 that will affect the way most play. The 3.1 Rogue changes that I have noted below this are good AND bad and of course some Rogues will do more DPS this way and then again some Rogues will lack in DPS due to the 3.1 patch.

Being level 80 when this patch comes out means that you will be ready for the benefits such as the awesome new Glyphs and some may even like having Dual Spec’s on a Rogue (which I know it will not even phase me). If you have not got to 80 yet then you should consider the way you are leveling and read up on Zygor’s guides as I cannot stress his guides enough.

Now for the patch notes that may scare you but everyone needs a scare everyonce in a while, right?

Goodbye Assasination Builds!

It is not so much as getting rid of Assasination builds but it is increasing the damage and all around usefulness of Combat builds, so why not switch? As you can see, there will be a lot more worked on in the Combat side than the Assasination side .

Combat Buffs:

-Savage Combat now increases damage by 4% (up from 2%).
-Adrenaline Rush now has a 3 minute cooldown (down from 5).
-Lightning Reflexes is now a 3 point talent for 6% dodge and 10% melee haste.
-Killing Spree increases all damage done by 20% while in the spree.

Poisons:

-Poisons are now based on a PPM model.
-Envenom increases your chance to apply Instant Poison by 75% (up from 15%) for 6 seconds.
-Improved Poisons now increases your change to apply Instant Poison by 50% (up from 10%).

Glyphs:

-Glyph of Killing Spree (45 seconds off cooldown)
-Glyph of Adrenaline Rush (AR lasts 5 seconds longer)
-Glyph of Shadow Dance (lasts 4 seconds longer)
-Glyph of Fan of Knives (FoK does 20% more damage)
-Glyph of Tricks of the Trade (adds 10% additional bonus damage, so 25%)
-Glyph of Mutilate (Mutilate energy cost reduced by 5)
-Glyph of Cloak of Shadows (while Cloak is up, 40% less physical damage taken)
-Glyph of Hunter for Blood (Increases damage by 1% per application)

Other Changes:
-Hunger for Blood is now a single-stacking 15% damage buff, but requires there to be a bleed on the target.
-Expose Armor now reduces armor by 20%.

Since looking through the patch notes, I believe I will be creating myself an AoE setup that consists of Glyph of Fan of Knives and Glyph of Adrenaline Rush since Adrenaline Rush already has its cooldown lowered. This will make Mages jealous of your AoE damage! I personally can not wait for 3.1 to come out and as soon as it does, you can bet I will be working on the next best builds for my Rogue.

Note: If you are not 80 yet, then you should read up on how to change that TODAY! Zygor’s leveling guides will get you to 80 in less than 7 days, just in time to get raiding with the rest of your friends, or just in time to PWN some major Arena’s, it is up to you how to play but Zygor’s will allow you to do it faster, check him out here or read my review of it here.

The best talent builds for rogues these days are the ones that either rock for pvp or pve situations but have you ever wondered about different scenarios? These next few talent builds will not be of the ordinary solely because everything else has been done before but i consider these to be “specialized” talent builds that I will be creating for each class over the week!

URGENT: If you are looking to get the absolute MOST out of your Rogue and you have not been doing what you believe is capable from your Rogue then you should read this! By reading Zygor’s guide you will be able to level faster with your Rogue or ANY OTHER CLASS than anyone and you will also learn your class better.

Note - By ordering by using my links you will be able to save a very heavy percentage off of the guides normal price. I have been using Zygor’s since level 70 and it took me around 5 days to get to level 80!

Try it for yourself and if you aren’t satisfied then simply return it for 100% of your money back, check it out and be amazed, I knew I was.

Most World of Warcraft Rogue gamers LOVE to do hardcore burst damage for PvP and generally speaking PvE is all about combo point obtaining and managing while keeping up Rogue DoT’s on the target for the best DPS possible so let us find you some of these first starting with my favorite PvE Rogue Talent Build.

[51/13/7] The PvE Rogue Build That Will Make Others Wish They Roll’ed A Rogue

This will be the PvE build of choice that gets you through from being a low-end level 80 to the point where you are the best of the best in the top of the line 80′s as of 3.0.9 which is an Assassination build mixed with a little Combat and an even littler amount of Subtlety.

You will be all about your poisons with this build and of course you will need a good set of daggers for it to work right because you will using Mutilate as your main attack. You will also be keeping up on your Hunger for Blood making sure it is always at 3 stacks (this will be removed in 3.1) and for the most optimal DPS possible, make sure you have Rupture up at all times or at least for the majority of the time.

With Slice n Dice on this build you should work up two combo points hit Slice n Dice then right before it is about to finish out you hit either Envenom or Eviscerate so it refreshes the Slice n Dice timer thus creating the best DPS flow possible.

[0/17/54] Watch Those Death Knights Get WTFOWNED

Yes the Death Knights are running free on WoW but that does not mean we have to cower against them anymore. We are Rogues and we should damn well start acting like one, we have the magic and the moves, now lets put all of them into play.

The talent build I gave you all for basic PvP encounters are mainly for anything that is a little overpowered such as a Mighty Morphin’ Pally Ranger and the MEGAOMGWTF Death Knight, now lets discuss how to shut them up.

Since we are Rogues we should only strike when the setting is right so we will stay stealthed until we do Premeditation on our target and then we come up behind them and do an Ambush! This should and will slow them down by a lot making them have no where to go if you time this right.

You will then Hemorrhage them and get enough Combo Points do hold down a nice Kidney Shot which after this point you will have to fight them out. If it is a caster class it will most likely be dead by now or you will, if not then you should either Dismantle them or you can wait for a Parry which then you will use Riposte on them, making sure they have no weapon or they are stunned for most of the time.

Specialized Talent Builds To Meet Your Needs

Here are the builds that most people can not find on the internet at any place which normally cause people to fail at what they are doing. I have never found a Rogue build just for farming gold or soloing Burning Crusade instances and this is the reason I made them just so someone will benefit from this and hopefully will make some serious loot.

[0/19/52] Open the Booty! Yar!

What we Rogues do best is lock picking and this is mainly because we are the only class that can and kind of because we are a little more sexy than most. Anyways, with Rogue Chest Farmining there comes certain dangers and certain things you need to keep in mind the whole time so you do not die and so you can do it in the shortest time possible, which of course increases your gold an hour rating, right?

This build equips you with every talent possible to keep from dieing and to just stay alive. You have talents reducing your cooldown times on abilities such as Preparation and Vanish along with Distract too! This is the same build I have been using to farm gold with on my Rogue when I want to do chest runs in any Burning Crusade instance.

[0/21/50] Disenchant this Rogue Build

As you could have guessed this is a build that gets you to kill a boss in an instance just to Disenchant his loot to farm materials for your or others Enchanting professions. Now you may think that anyone can do this with any build, and I will say you are right, but also I will say with my builds I will do it better.

Now this build is similar to the Chest Farm build but that is mainly because of the stealth and cooldown talents that I use in this same build. You will be relying on dodging their hard boss hits and also getting past most of the add’s in the instance and if you cannot do that you will be able to Vanish + Preparation + Vanish, if needed.

Check out this build and all others on this page and tell me what you think, what would you do differently? Have these builds worked for you before? I love to know the ways other Rogues do what they do and of course like normal, if it is good enough it will be published on Azeroth Now!

If you are use to normal raiding then you will notice that most if not all raid bosses are immune to stuns such a Cheapshot or anything similar, but today I tell you another creative aspect, Doomguard Cripple!

As you will see below, Cripple is very viable against most raid bosses that you will need to slow attack speed by 45% and movement speed by 40%.

Cripple
30 yd range
Instant 30 sec cooldown
Cripples the target, reducing movement speed by 40%, increasing time between melee and ranged attacks by 45%. Lasts 20 sec.

This ability only has a 30 second cooldown but which for 20 seconds it will be active meaning there will only be a downtime of 10 seconds without this debuff on the raid boss.

Cripple has been tested on Patchwerk, Grobbulus, Maexxna, Sartharion (With 3 Drakes up this may prove a little difficult.), Instructor Razuvious and several others.

Note: Anub’arak in Azjol-Nerub was not successful with Cripple.

I was just browsing the forums and hearing people talking about their Arena 2v2 teams and I was thinking that most do not even know what they are talking about because they do the double-DPS sometimes or even worse, double-heals.

The above video is a Combat Rogue and a Shadow Priest (I Believe) owning up the Arena, I would suppose they are high ranked from what I seen as it looked like that Rogue really knew what it was doing.

If you are tired of losing Arena’s and you want to start to obtain your PvP gear, I highly encourage you to go read my post where I talked about “Be the Best Arena Team” or you can SIMPLY pick up the PvP Bible which will make all your Arena dreams come true!

WotLK Raid Listing

Wrath of the Lich King has been out for about a month now and the raids are great but some people do not even know what raids exist for WotLK. So here is the Wotlk Raid List. The following descriptions of each WotLK Raid Listing is sourced straight from WoWWiki.

Ahn’Kahet: The Old Kingdom

The area known as the Old Kingdom lies deep below the surface of Northrend; and is the original location of Azjol-Nerub. The nerubians preferred to stay well below surface level. This area had not been well maintained because the Scourge never descended this far. By the same token, that meant they hadn’t looted as much either. It was easier to avoid the Scourge by staying to these lower levels. Most of the nerubian rebels live down here.

Azjol-Nerub

Azjol-Nerub, also known as the Spider Kingdom (pronounced “ah-ZHOL nuh-ROOB”), is the vast underground empire of the arachnid Nerubians located on the icy continent of Northrend. The entrance to Azjol-Nerub can be found in the Pit of Narjun, in the western reaches of the Dragonblight.

Chamber of Aspects – The Obsidian Sanctum

The Obsidian Sanctum is the black dragonflight area of the Chamber of Aspects. The entrance is in Dragonblight and accessed via a crack in the ice below Wyrmrest Temple. It holds one raid boss, Sartharion the Onyx Guardian, and his three lieutenants, Shadron, Tenebron, and Vesperon. Raiders may choose to kill all three drakes or leave some combination of them alive. Completing the encounter with one or more drakes up increases both the difficulty and the quality of loot that drops.

A 10- and 25-man version of this raid exists.

Drak’Tharon Keep

Drak’Tharon Keep contains 1 instance for level 74-76 players. Like Blackrock Mountain, Drak’Tharon is a two-zone feature. It connects the Grizzly Hills and Zul’Drak.

The undead Drakkari ice trolls have begun pouring from their stronghold of Drak’Tharon Keep, and are assaulting the furbolg. The invasion is oddly credited to the Drakkari themselves, not the Scourge.

On Heroic, it awards approximately 2000 reputation.

Gundrak

Gundrak (also known as Gun’Drak) is the capital of the ice troll nation of Zul’Drak in eastern Northrend. The Drakkari tribe rule Zul’Drak from here, constantly battling the mighty forces of the Scourge.

Population: 13,000 (100% Drakkari ice troll)

Affiliation: Independent.

Gundrak is an instance which contains the final boss for the ice trolls. This instance will show the Ice Trolls in all their glory, and teach us why they have been so successful against the Scourge. The story that emerges in the completely constructed zone, Zul’Drak, and the instance at the end of that zone, Gundrak, is that the trolls worship various animal Gods, like the rest of the troll races. They have began sacrificing to these gods to give them the power to fight the Scourge. The whole zone is recognizable as Troll, but with a twist to it that is true to the ice troll culture.

Naxxaramas

Naxxramas is an entry-level raid instance floating above the Dragonblight, and is available in both 10-man and 25-man versions. It has the shape of a necropolis and has the questionable honor to serve as the seat of one of the Lich King’s most powerful officers, the dreaded lich Kel’Thuzad.

The Nexus

The Nexus is a level 71-73 wing of the Nexus dungeon hub in the Borean Tundra. The dungeon layout is very open. You can go into different “wings”, but the final boss, Keristrasza, a captured red dragon, can only be freed from her ice prison when you kill the previous three bosses.

The Oculus

The Oculus is a 5-man wing of the Nexus in Coldarra (a subregion of Borean Tundra in Northrend) designed for level 80 players. The Oculus is a tower of “magical rings” that float above the ground and the first instance to allow players the use of certain flying mounts.

Utgarde Keep

Utgarde Keep (pronounced OOT-ghaard) is the name of a dungeon in World of Warcraft (as well as the first instance of the same dungeon). The keep is located on the shores of Lake Cauldros in the Howling Fjord of Northrend.

Utgarde is inhabited by the Vrykul (led by King Ymiron), a Viking-like race bent on proving their strength to the Lich King, who will raise the most worthy of their warriors to serve him beyond the grave. Enemy encounters include Vrykul, Undead and more…

Utgarde Pinnacle

Utgarde Pinnacle is the second of Utgarde Keep’s two 5-man wings. It is a level 80 instance, and you need to be at least level 75 to enter it. The instance has its own meeting stone at the top level of the keep.

On Heroic, it awards approximately 2000 reputation.

Halls of Lightning

The Halls of Lightning is the level 79-80, five-man wing of Ulduar in Storm Peaks.

Halls of Lightning is part of the enormous titan city of Ulduar. Here the treacherous Loken – a fallen servant of the Pantheon – mass-produces Iron Vrykul on behalf of his dark master’s sinister plans. Loken himself guides his forces from his throne, guarded by storm and fire elementals.

Halls of Stone

Halls of Stone is the 5-man wing of Ulduar in Storm Peaks and is aimed at level 77-79 players. It is part of the titan city and has a lot of lore closely tied to it. This is one of the non-linear instances in Wrath of the Lich King. The scale of the instance is large, with tall halls and rooms, but is still small enough to move about in without a mount.

The Violet Hold

Violet Hold is a prison complex located in Dalaran. It is the third instance to be located within the bounds of a capital city (after the Stormwind Stockade and Orgrimmar’s Ragefire Chasm). The quest Discretion is Key, obtained from Rhonin at level 75, grants you The Violet Hold Key which is required to unlock the door to the instance. You can enter without the key so long as someone opens the door for you. The quest itself does not need to be completed in order to keep the key.
