Finally today is dawned upon the world. What is that you say? 3.2 Patch Change has happened throughout the world and some people are angry and some love the world, mostly other classes (like I talked about on Orc and Gnome about my Mage) besides Rogues, because once again, we got the short end of the stick…

Back when World of Warcraft was vanilla and only the strongest survived and epic’s were hard to come by, the Rogues ruled the lands…Countless nerfs later we are here today only to see these mediocre changes happening to our Rogues. Sure we do get a few little things such as Rogues can use Axes now, but who really cares? I will always use my Daggers and Swords.

After much quiet contemplation, rogues now possess the ability to learn how to use one-handed axes.

Of course it was quiet comtemplation, because we would have warned you against that wise decision. Give us fireballs or cannons for arms, I DONT CARE but change something so we will enjoy our class again, seriously Blizzard.

Oh yeah, we also got our Shadow Dance cooldown reduced to one minute but it only lasts 6 seconds now instead of 10, meh. There isnt anything I can say about this, I am happy and sad about this one but yeah this happened.

Shadow Dance: Cooldown reduced to 1 minute. Now lasts 6 seconds, down from 10 seconds.

With all the stupid Rogue changes or the lack of, we can finally ponder over some of the new additions to World of Warcraft like this nifty little feature that allows us to trade soulbound items inside a Dungeon which will help so much if someone accidentally loots something that they shouldn’t have, here is the officially wording.

New Dungeon Loot Feature

• Players will now be able to trade soulbound items with other raid or group members that were eligible for the loot. This system will work like the Item Buy Back system and allow 2 hours for players to trade an item after it has been looted. Players who choose to enchant or add gems to the item will get one last confirmation before losing the ability to trade the item.

As you can see, I did not lie, and obviously this will give people the change to get their epics back and stop whining for good. What will Blizzard think of next? Faster ticket times when we need a GM? Heresy I say.

Now let us continue with the DPS side of things.

Gems:

If you are trying to be a perfectionist in World of Warcraft and reach the top of the charts for being a Rogue then you need to know a few things. Right now it is next to impossible to be beat all other classes in DPS so do not get discouraged.

Before you consider yourself to do lots of DPS in a raid you need to gear yourself for the raid. Make sure all sockets are gem’ed to meet the raid’s expectations. I will go over a simple gem list for Rogue’s that you could use to improve PvE damage.

Delicate Scarlet Ruby – This is your main priority when gem’ing out your gear. Agility gem’s will increase you crit chance / attack power / dodge rating. You will gem out all your gear to that standard unless you are lacking in other areas or you are looking for a specific socket bonus.

Rigid Autumn’s Glow – This will improve your hit rating for those that do not meet their minimum hit rating for the bosses they need to kill. Most hit rating gems will be used by Rogues who are not Combat built which means they are lacking precision. You should keep an eye out on your hit rating, especially if you see that you are missing quite a bit.

Other than those gem’s there are not many other gem’s you need to look into unless you feel like testing out some DPS with different things.

Enchants:

Below I will list which slot you should enchant with what enchant. These are not mandatory but what you can expect me to raid with, but to each his own. This is only experimental and by no means should you take these as solid facts, with that said let me present you with the “best” item enchancements and enchants possible.

Head Slot : [Arcanum of Torment] (50 Attack Power , 20 Critical Strike)

[Note: Must be honored with Ebon Blade to attain that Arcanum]

Shoulder : [Greater Inscription of the Axe] (40 Attack Power , 15 Critical Strike)

[Note: Must be exalted with Sons of Hodir to attain that Arcanum]

Back : [Enchant Cloak - Major Agility] (22 Agility)

Chest : [Enchant Chest - Powerful Stats] (10 All Stats)

Wrist : [Enchant Bracers - Greater Assault] (50 Attack Power)

Hands : [Enchant Gloves - Major Agility] (20 Agility)

Legs : [Icescale Leg Armor] (75 Attack Power , 22 Critical Strike)

[Note: Leatherworker's make this item enchancer, pick up one off the Auction House or make one for yourself]

Feet : [Enchant Boots - Greater Assault] (32 Attack Power)

Weapon 1 : [Enchant Weapon - Exceptional Agility] (26 Agility)

Weapon 2: [Enchant Weapon - Exceptional Agility] (26 Agility)

Rogue Rotations :

Assassination Build : If you are the general Assassination Rogue build where you are deep in that tree but have a small portion in Combat then you should use the following rotation. You need to start out stealthed sneaking up on your target with Hunger for Blood up at full strength, you will then use Garrote. After Garrote you will proceed to stack combo points with Mutilate until you have 5 points, then you will use Rupture, then you should have at least one point with your talents up on the mob, then you will hit Slice and Dice, then you either Eviscerate or Envenom to refresh Slice and Dice, and then repeat until dead.

The below build is what I would suggest for anyone wanting to use daggers and raid at the same time with the highest end of DPS possible. Keep your DPS cycles in check and everything will be alright.

This combination seems to take a long time reading but if you know what you are doing this will only take moments before your DPS will sky rocket. Slice and Dice will be your main DPS booster so make sure it is up as well as Hunger for Blood.

Combat Build : You should be the general Sword Spec’ed Combat build mainly using slow main hand weapons and fast off hand weapons. You will spam Sinister Strike until 5 combo points, then hit Slice and Dice, then build up the points again and get Rupture up, after that it will be Adrenaline Rushes, Blade Flurry, and Killing Spree at every pop.

The build I suggest below on WoWhead is for all the players who want to play a nice sword build and spam Sinister Strike all the time. You will be keeping all your damage talents in line with all the ones that matter when you check out the below build.

Make sure you have every cooldown poped at all time and all trinkets ready to go. Use Sinister Strike only, and when your DoT’s and DPS increasers are up make sure you Eviscerate when you have time to insure that your damage is always being done and from there you will only see your DPS go up hill.

This should help most Rogue’s start to sky rocket their DPS and if you can truly say this information is not what is the norm, then I would like to know what is the best way to improve DPS for Rogue’s at raiding by commenting below. Since revieiwing all changes throughout 3.1 patch notes, I have come to realise some things about the Rogue in 3.1 that will affect the way most play. The 3.1 Rogue changes that I have noted below this are good AND bad and of course some Rogues will do more DPS this way and then again some Rogues will lack in DPS due to the 3.1 patch.

Being level 80 when this patch comes out means that you will be ready for the benefits such as the awesome new Glyphs and some may even like having Dual Spec’s on a Rogue (which I know it will not even phase me). If you have not got to 80 yet then you should consider the way you are leveling and read up on Zygor’s guides as I cannot stress his guides enough.

Now for the patch notes that may scare you but everyone needs a scare everyonce in a while, right?

Goodbye Assasination Builds!

It is not so much as getting rid of Assasination builds but it is increasing the damage and all around usefulness of Combat builds, so why not switch? As you can see, there will be a lot more worked on in the Combat side than the Assasination side .

Combat Buffs:

-Savage Combat now increases damage by 4% (up from 2%).
-Adrenaline Rush now has a 3 minute cooldown (down from 5).
-Lightning Reflexes is now a 3 point talent for 6% dodge and 10% melee haste.
-Killing Spree increases all damage done by 20% while in the spree.

Poisons:

-Poisons are now based on a PPM model.
-Envenom increases your chance to apply Instant Poison by 75% (up from 15%) for 6 seconds.
-Improved Poisons now increases your change to apply Instant Poison by 50% (up from 10%).

Glyphs:

-Glyph of Killing Spree (45 seconds off cooldown)
-Glyph of Adrenaline Rush (AR lasts 5 seconds longer)
-Glyph of Shadow Dance (lasts 4 seconds longer)
-Glyph of Fan of Knives (FoK does 20% more damage)
-Glyph of Tricks of the Trade (adds 10% additional bonus damage, so 25%)
-Glyph of Mutilate (Mutilate energy cost reduced by 5)
-Glyph of Cloak of Shadows (while Cloak is up, 40% less physical damage taken)
-Glyph of Hunter for Blood (Increases damage by 1% per application)

Other Changes:
-Hunger for Blood is now a single-stacking 15% damage buff, but requires there to be a bleed on the target.
-Expose Armor now reduces armor by 20%.

Since looking through the patch notes, I believe I will be creating myself an AoE setup that consists of Glyph of Fan of Knives and Glyph of Adrenaline Rush since Adrenaline Rush already has its cooldown lowered. This will make Mages jealous of your AoE damage! I personally can not wait for 3.1 to come out and as soon as it does, you can bet I will be working on the next best builds for my Rogue.

Note: If you are not 80 yet, then you should read up on how to change that TODAY! Zygor’s leveling guides will get you to 80 in less than 7 days, just in time to get raiding with the rest of your friends, or just in time to PWN some major Arena’s, it is up to you how to play but Zygor’s will allow you to do it faster, check him out here or read my review of it here.

As you will see below, Cripple is very viable against most raid bosses that you will need to slow attack speed by 45% and movement speed by 40%.

Cripple
30 yd range
Instant 30 sec cooldown
Cripples the target, reducing movement speed by 40%, increasing time between melee and ranged attacks by 45%. Lasts 20 sec.

This ability only has a 30 second cooldown but which for 20 seconds it will be active meaning there will only be a downtime of 10 seconds without this debuff on the raid boss.

Cripple has been tested on Patchwerk, Grobbulus, Maexxna, Sartharion (With 3 Drakes up this may prove a little difficult.), Instructor Razuvious and several others.

Note: Anub’arak in Azjol-Nerub was not successful with Cripple.

Being Creative is Key

Switch it up a little bit. Learn how to be different while running to your next quest turn in, jump around, jump on top of a tree stump and jump off of it. I am not telling you this so you will look silly, which you will, instead I am telling you this just to get you to get your mind off the leveling.

Take pictures as you run. Have you seen the joggers who jog and then take pictures just for art? Well, consider that your new hobby while leveling up your rogue to the max. Later on when you are the maximum level you can then stare at your Rogue’s glory and get all teary-eyed when you see it as a baby!

You are a Rogue, Act Like One

Unlock some locked boxes. Nothing is more relaxing while leveling a Rogue than to go out in Stormwind and unlock some boxes, and maybe even make some tips too! You can go around saying that you will unlock them for free and most people even pay you for your time.

Farm for some gear. Just because you are leveling does not stop from obtaining gear for you to Rogue, and it might even help you to level your Roue later! You can take a rest from back-to-back quests and start grinding for that Rare BOE that you wanted or you could do some instance runs to get that new Dagger or Sword you may be looking for.

Reward yourself for Leveling your Rogue

Ding and relax. All guides tell you how to make the most efficient run for you to get there the quickest way and THAT is true and all but it is a mental workout doing all that without a break! After you hit the next level on your Rogue you can lay back and take a break from all of it, it will surely help out later.

Set goals and rewards. Everyday when I am leveling my Rogue I get on and set goals for myself so that I have something to look forward to, and when that goal is complete I will let myself go eat, go do a Battleground for fun and maybe even go to town to hang out with friends. It is very pleasurable to level your Rogue when you know you get to do stuff after wards.

As you can tell, I know quite a bit about leveling in general, but most of all I know how to level my Rogue the right way, and I have always known how from past MMO experiences with the same general class such as the “Treasure Hunter” from Lineage 2 and any other Melee class on other RPG’s.

What I recommend for you today is to go and get Zygor’s leveling guide so that you level your rogue the fastest and so you can reap the benefits of being level 80 in a few days! I am leveling with Zygor and so should you, I have no regretted it at all.

The above numbers are the numbers you will be using if you are considering this new build. I know I am not the creator of a Rogue’s class and I am certainly not Parry! Dodge! Spin! but I have had a Rogue ever since I can remember…

A little tip in using this build is to make sure you are in a group that will be critting decently and that your gear is decently geared toward hit rating. The build is using Precision, Hemorage and Swords. Just make sure you keep up your Combo Points and spam Eviscerate and watch your threat meter with this one because it may be hard for some to master, and harder for most to perfect.

There are two different types of death knights that have existed; 1st generation death knights and 2nd generation death knights.

How can I create a Death Knight?

The Death Knight is the first hero class in World of Warcraft and can be unlocked once one character on a particular realm is level 55+. Once a Death Knight is created you will not lose a character and your former character will not “turn into a Death Knight”. This Death Knight that will be created will start off at level 55 and you will start doing the bidding for the Lich King, until the story line unravels…

What does a Death Knight do?

Well, I am not sure if this was the meaning of a hero class but it seems the Death Knight can do all. A Rogue is a DPS, a Warrior can be a tank, and a Priest can be a healer (until Wrath came out, heh) but with a Death Knight all it takes is a change of a talent tree to change your role. To sum it all up a Death Knight is a rigged up, fast swinging Warrior, that can heal himself and buff the party/raid. Neat right?

Blood PvE [45/26/0] – This beast of a build will make sure you are doing your damage while keeping up buffs and heals on yourself and allies. With the Death Knight comes new strategy and with new strategy is a new mind and a new way to play, its just up to you to embrace it.

Frost PvE [10/51/10] (Thanks to Nathrezim) - Another hard hitting frenzy build is by using Frost. This Frost build will keep you swinging fast while keeping an eye on your runic power. Unholy PvE [7/0/64] – Being Unholy is not all about death and torment, it is about living, and living long. Your spell rotation will be similar to the following; Curse of Exhaustion, Shadowbolt (repeatedly) Pop Demonic Empowerment, then using Metamorphosis.

Waste no more mana using rediculous methods known to the raid groups, waste no more time becoming the very best as the top damage dealer of all time. These WotLK Warlock builds do nothing more than obliterate the enemy and destroy their spirits. Crush the victims with the blood of the sorcerror within you, trample every Hunter, Paladin and Rogue in your path but run, run in fear from any Death Knight you may see.

DoT Pact [32/11/28] ? The DoT Pact build is a build composed of strong DoT’s and using Dark Pact for mana. You will be DoT’ing and Fearing your enemy then using Searing Pain crits to finish your opponent off.

Shadow Guard [0/41/30] ? This is your basic build for any arena or battleground. This build is based on survivability and using Fel Guard for pet damage unto your enemy. You will be kiting a lot with your pet and keeping yourself alive while your DoT’s and your Fel Hunter finishes your enemy off.

Extreme Anger [13/2/56] – Combines Protection with Anger Management to keep rage and therefore aggro using sunders to your advantage. I will assume you will know how to hold a tanking role in a raid or whatever scenario you may be in. There are so many techniques to hold aggro that I will not get into this in this very guide.

Like a Rock [7/10/54] – You will be using this build for the ultimate in reducing damage because when you are level 80 then you will be the best thing out there that will be taking the least amount of damage possible and this build helps just with that. It will be using Improved Demoralizing Shout to your advantage for even more melee damage reduction. Note: I recommend the most in armor more than anything for this build as you will need every single point.

The average fight will consist of rotating Bloodthirst then you will use Slam if Bloodthirst crits then you will use Whirlwind and then repeat while making sure to use Heroic Strike if your rage is over 55.
